Marching Green Pride

The Marching Green Pride is the marching band component of the Azle High School Band.  The MGP (as we are affectionately called) performs at all home and away football games, parades, pep rallies, as well as several marching contests (our core curriculum) throughout the fall, including UIL Marching Contest, Bands of America Regionals and Super Regionals, as well as other local contests.  The MGP begins music rehearsals in early June, with a rigorous student leadership curriculum in the summer, culminating in our Summer Band rehearsals which typically begin around August 1st.

Marching Band is required of all students that are enrolled in band or color guard classes, and typically rehearses three days per week during the school year.  Students receive a P.E. credit for successful completion of freshman year marching band, and all students may earn points towards a letter jacket through participation.
