Azle Colorguard

The Azle Color Guard Program is a branch of the Marching Green Pride. The color guard enhances the visual component of the marching production each year through dance, ingenuity, and equipment effect. Traditional color guard equipment consists of flag, rifle, and sabre, though more extraordinary equipment may be utilized. Color Guard is often called the “Sport of the Art” due to its blend of pageantry, dexterity, and physical demand. In the winter season, the color guard competes on its own in local and national competitions. This is called Winter Guard, and lasts from January to early April. The color guard strives to teach its students how to work together in order to build confidence in its performers, and within their social and professional relationships.
