The Azle High School Band was first established in the early 1900’s as part of Azle Public Schools, which eventually became Azle Independent School District in 1947.  The Azle ISD Band Department consists of Azle High School, serving approximately 200 students from ninth through twelfth grade, as well as Azle Junior High School, Forte Junior High School, and 6th grade band students at Azle Elementary School and Hoover Elementary School.

The Azle High School Band has many program offerings, including a competitive marching band, The Marching Green Pride, that performs at all football games as well as competing at local and state-wide contests.  The core of the Azle High School Band are the concert bands, consisting of three separate ensembles chosen by audition which compete annually in the UIL Concert and Sight Reading Evaluation.  Percussionists participate in a multitude of percussion ensembles, as well as the Azle Indoor Drumline.  Additional program offerings include the Azle Jazz Orchestra, which consists of three separate ensembles.  The Azle Color Guard performs in the fall as part of the Visual Ensemble alongside the Emerald Dazzlers, as well as competes in NTCA (North Texas Colorguard Association) and WGI (Winter Guard International) events as the Azle Winterguard.  We additionally offer the Azle Indoor Winds, which competes in NTCA and WGI events both regionally and nationally.

Azle Hornets are Proud, Prepared, Persistent, Prompt, Proven, and Professional.

“I met some of my best friends in band. I was introduced to so many new people and am really glad I got the opportunity to do band all four years of high school.”
