Alex Irvine is from North Richland Hills, Texas where he attended Richland High School. After graduating, Alex marched with Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps from 2015-2018 as a bass drummer.

Alex began teaching in 2019 as a drumline instructor at The Colony High School. Alex started working with Azle High School in 2021 as a bass technician, and is now a private lesson teacher and the Assistant Percussion Director for Azle ISD. Alex also works as a battery technician at L.D. Bell High School, and a bass technician for Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps, Vigilantes Indoor Percussion, and Saginaw High School.
